I would recommend the song Coffin for Head of State by Fela Anikulapo-Kuti and the Afrika 70 Band, 1977 and Solomon Ilori's Isa Ola, which transltes as "God's Work Is Indestructible". People don't tend to py much attention to African music, but there is a lot of great religious and non-religious music from that continent.

I would suggest that "great is thy faithfulness" would be in my top selections. It would definitely have to be the best song from the 1920's
