We started doing it when I came to the church cause I was feeling the same thing - it took a couple songs to really get the band going.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;It's a way to get the band warmed up AND it's also a signal to the congregation that we're getting started soon.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;AND - if we're doing a new song in a service we'll do it during pre-service to give the crowd a chance to hear it and the band one more chance to play through it.
